Testing
NAVHDA testing provides a proven, standard method of evaluating the performance of all versatile dogs, regardless of breed. At a NAVHDA test, all dogs are competing against a theoretical standard, not against one another. Local chapters test dogs at three levels, Natural Ability, Utility Preparatory and the Utility Test. The Natural Ability (NA) Test is intended to demonstrate the inherent abilities of the young dog. The Utility Preparatory Test (UPT) is for dogs midway through their training. The Utility Test (UT) evaluates the finished dog. Dogs performing at the highest levels in the UT test, receiving a Prize 1 award, are invited to the NAVHDA Invitational, a national event held every year.
North Central Wisconsin Chapter holds two tests per year, spring and fall. During each test, all three levels may be judged. If you wish to enter a test the test entry form is available here . The form and entry fee should be sent to the Test Secretary (listed at the bottom of this page and on the Contacts web page). Note: Tests fill very quickly, usually months in advance. An entry is not officially accepted until the fee is received.
Our chapter conducts all training and tests at the Mead Dog Training Grounds, County O, Junction City, WI. Directions can be found on our Directions web page
